Lithuanians are concerned about the growing cost of living more than any other nation in Europe, a survey shows.
Every fifth respondent has indicated rising food prices as the main reason for growing cost of living.
Although Lithuanians do not think that the prospects for Lithuania‘s economy are optimistic, they still hope for positive changes regarding their personal financial situation. More than half of Lithuanian respondents believe that their financial situation will improve over the next year.
Statistics Lithuania announced on Wednesday that every fifth resident of the country last year lived below the poverty risk threshold, a little more than in 2014. One third of pensioners and even every tenth employed person in Lithuania lives below the poverty risk threshold.
