Following the ceremony, the president and the ambassador discussed issues related to developing bilateral relations between Lithuania and Poland. They also discussed security policy challenges, especially the importance of implementing the decisions adopted at the NATO Wales Summit, as well as the necessity to speed up the formation of the NATO rapid response force.
The officials discussed cooperation in the sphere of energy security, noting that the Lithuanian-Polish power link LitPol Link 1 would be implemented in 2015, stressed the importance of liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals in Klaipėda and Swinoujscie, as well as the importance of planned gas connection that would strengthen energy security of Lithuania and the Baltic states.
The necessity of encouragement of a dialogue between the Lithuanian and Polish societies, particularly between youth, was underlined.
After the ceremony, Ambassador Adomavičius laid a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw.
