Last year, Lithuania’s 1,000 biggest companies created 5,176 new jobs.
The manufacturing sector is expected to remain one of the biggest employers in the country, Verslo Žinios reports.
Most of the new jobs by the big companies were created in Kaunas County, 2,688, and Vilnius, 2,012.
Lukas Geryba, analyst at the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, says that manufacturing companies are not planning any cuts.
The Confederation has surveyed the companies for its Industry Expectation Index.
