NATO jets scrambled from Lithuania once last week over Russian warplane

On October 24, the NATO jets accompanied a Russian transport transport airplane An-26 en route from the Russian Kaliningrad region to mainland Russia, the Defence Ministry said on Wednesday.

The warplane was flying in accordance to a flight plan, maintained contact with flight controllers and had its automatic transponder on.

The NATO air-policing mission in the Baltic states is conducted from Lithuania and Estonia
