He noted that the amendments, which have already been given a green light from the Trilateral Council, would be discussed by the government on April 19. He also emphasized that any amendments to be registered by the parliamentarians would be rejected under an agreement made by the ruling coalition of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union and the Social Democratic Party.
“The key thing is that the code will be in place by July 1 after being postponed and amended. If there are attempts to register various amendments at the parliament, the coalition has decided that they should be rejected,” the prime minister told journalists after the ruling coalition’s meeting at the parliament on Tuesday.
Skvernelis expressed hope for the government to approve the Trilateral Council’s agreements on April 19.
On March 17, representatives of employers, employees and the government completed discussions on the provisions of the Labor Code that had triggered the key discussions. The Sandrauga trade union was the only trade union not to sign the agreement.
