“As a director of Odontika, I am really pleased to see this partnership taking place,” says Odontika director Alistair Day-Stirrat. “The field of medicine is always moving and innovating extremely fast. What we have seen in some of the ‘headline’ dental news is Lithuania is well placed to be at the forefront of new research.”
Collaboration with Vilnius University will allow both further academic research and develop new commercial products, he says. “In other locations internationally we would not be able to bring together such calibre of academics with the particular experience and interests. It’s a perfect match,” Mr. Day-Stirrat says.
He adds that he has found Lithuanian institutions very welcoming to business ideas from the private sector.
“As a foreign investor or businessperson in Lithuania myself, I now have a far better appreciation for the opportunities that exist for other foreign companies to partner with Lithuanian institutions,” according to Mr. Day-Stirrat.
