The prosecutors refused to open an investigation after establishing that the content of the Foreign Ministry’s classified documents were not disclosed.

“A conclusion was drawn that the letters sent by the Migration Department specified details of the Foreign Ministry’s classified documents (numbers and dates), however, did not reveal the content of the letters,” reads the press release.

The prosecutors started scrutinizing the situation after delfi.lt news portal reported that the Migration Department had sent limited-access information to the Russian judges as part of the explanation of why they are banned from arriving in Lithuania for an international congress.

According to the portal, the problems were caused by the fact that the materials contained a position by Lithuanian Constitutional Court president Dainius Žalimas to refuse entry to the judges for legalizing the Crimea annexation. Based on the position, Moscow has started pressuring Lithuania to remove the judges from the black list, barring Žalimas from entering Russia.
