“This year, Russian spying equipment was found in three computers,” Černiauskas told BNS Lithuania on Thursday.

He refused to specify the institutions subjected to the spying efforts, saying the information was classified.

“(The software) collects passwords, collects documents and sends them to Russia. (…) The three computers sent data (…) to Russian intelligence institutions or to Russian online addresses linked with Russia’s spying activities,” said the director of the Cyber Security Center.

In Černiauskas’ words, the spying equipment was discovered in the first half of 2016.

According to information available to Černiauskas, the software entered the computers by way of USB sticks.

Last year, similar software was found in one computer.
