Last summer, Baltkran installed a gantry crane in the Šeštokai railway station for handling containers. The work was conducted in the same weeks when NATO Allies were carrying out military equipment and weaponry logistics tasks in preparation for the largest war games in the Baltic states, Saber Strike.

According to delfi.lt, the LG deal was a secret to the parliamentary National Security and Defence Committee and the Defence Ministry, as well as the State Security Department and the President’s Office.

Facts have surfaced recently about LG’s allegedly non-transparent aid allocation practices and its dubious deals with Russia’s Transmashholding. Also, the Financial Crime Investigation Service is investigating suspicious transactions concluded by LG and its subsidiaries, the investigation agency suspects the business was highly profitable to the private companies, with money laundered via a network of companies abroad and benefits received by LG top executives.
