Seimas adopts amendments on personal info protection

99 lawmakers voted in favor of the amendments, with no votes against and three abstentions.

The amendments were adopted taking into account the ongoing pan-European personal data protection reform aimed at strengthening persons’ right to the protection of their personal data and ensuring equal and high-level protection of people’s personal information across the EU.

The adopted amendments will come into force on Jul. 16.
