The monument and the Town Hall in the Lithuanian capital will be lit up in light blue and yellow overnight.
The municipality had earlier rejected an application from a group of activists to light up the monument of Three Crosses in blue and yellow, triggering a wave of indignation.
Aleksandras Zubriakovas, spokesman for the Vilnius mayor, told DELFI that the municipality had earlier decided to reject such type of applications – the Georgian Embassy recently had an analogous plea rejected.
