The ethics commission found that voting procedures were violated when voting for the amendment. Seimas statutes require a three-hour period of time before the final vote on an amendment, and this was not done.
Now, the Seimas has to ratify the commission’s findings. “The Seimas, according to the commission’s findings, must now vote on whether or not the law in question has been repealed. If the Seimas does this, it will return for consideration and there will be a three-hour pause,” Leonardas Talmontas, the chairman of the commission, told BNS.
