The basic heating price will go up by 8.2 percent to 4.63 cents (5.6 cents including vat of 21 pct) per kilowatt-hour. However, it is not the final price for consumers – it will change, depending on fuel prices.
After Vilniaus Šilumos Tinklai (Vilnius Heating Grid, VST) took over the city’s heating sector on April 1, the discount of about 20 percent offered to Vilniaus Energija (Vilnius Energy) should theoretically no longer exist. However, the commission’s representative Loreta Kimutytė told BNS that Vilnius residents would pay the current price until June, unless the municipality takes a different decision shortly.
