The inspectors will look at whether Lithuania develops its capabilities in a transparent manner and conducts no undeclared military activities.
The inspection is being performed within the framework of the Vienna Document of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
“Lithuania openly declares its military activities and accepts arms control inspectors, in line with its international commitments,” Defense Minister Raimundas Karoblis said in a press release.
“To ensure transparency and confidence in measures that enhance security throughout the region, we expect the same from our neighbors,” he added.
