“Estonia’s minister supported the Lithuanian energy minister’s position. He agreed that they should look for ways to limit the flow of unclean nuclear energy into European Union countries. The ministers did not discuss specific methods – that would be the specialists’ field,” said Mantas Dubauskas, the minister’s adviser.
Though the Ministry of Energy has not yet received responses from the other ministers who received the letter, the Minister plans to meet with them soon.
“First, regional countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Poland) have to agree on a common position and common actions. Later, the question will be raised at the EU level,” said Dubauskas.
According to the adviser, the ministry has not yet received an official comment on the letter from Russia or Belarus.
