Following his meeting with General Martin E. Dempsey, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, in Vilnius, Linkevičius refused to disclose any specific details but said the proposals were related to the so-called “readiness action plan” that also includes the establishment of international military staffs in the Baltic states.
“I met with General Dempsey and presented our proposals to him. They are related to the implementation of the readiness action plan. We have a lot of interests there, including national security interests. We have our vision on how we see this,” the minister told BNS.
General Dempsey is attending a meeting of the NATO Military Committee in Vilnius.
