Skvernelis will also have a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart, followed by a face-to-face conversation with Croatia’s Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.

The meeting with the Chinese PM will address exports of Lithuanian food products to China, as well as logistic and transport cooperation, said Deividas Matulionis, the Lithuanian prime minister’s foreign policy adviser.

Lithuania’s businessmen seek to export meat and dairy products to China, a country that is important for Lithuanian businesses as an alternative market after Russia‘s 2014 embargo on food products.

The meeting with the Croatian prime minister should focus on liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal project in progress in Croatia.

Croatia has a year to decide on construction of an LNG terminal on the Krk island. Lithuania’s state-owned Klaipėdos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil) aims to invest in the company developing the terminal project.
