Lithuanian Red Cross starts collecting funds for refugees in country

The Red Cross said refugees had been given asylum in Lithuania were now being pushed closer to poverty by diminished allowances and a reduction in the period during which they receive state supports.

Lithuanian Red Cross Society Acting Secretary General Gintarė Guzevičiūtė said that Lithuania hosts refugees from about ten countries, with most coming from the war-torn Ukraine.
