Lithuanian team takes part in epic 200-mile race across Oregon

Inga runs Hood to Coast

Headed by the team captain Inga Sadaunikaitė-Kozhenikov, a dozen Lithuanian runners, mostly members and friends of US Lithuanian communities and guests from Lithuania, took turns in the overnight run to cover 198 miles (319km) from Mount Hood across the Portland metropolitan area to the beach town of Seaside on the Oregon Coast.

Team Lituanica – named after the legendary 1933 flight across the Atlantic of Lithuanian-American pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girėnas – has participated in the race for the second consecutive year. One of the world’s longest and largest relays is held in late August, traditionally on the Friday and Saturday before the Labor Day weekend.
