“We very much understand your current situation. So if there is anything we can help you, we will. We have already provided your side with all translated legislation and technical documents related to the LNG terminal construction. We can help you in building it as well,” he said during a meeting of the
Council of Presidents of Lithuania and Ukraine in Kiev on Monday.
In the future, Lithuania could also supply natural gas to Ukraine from Klaipėda via Poland, Masiulis said.
“We are starting to build a gas pipeline to Poland and through this country we will be able to ship LNG to Ukraine, when connections are strengthened. Our help may also be used in questions of defending the interests of the country against monopoly enterprises (arbitrages), implementation of the EU’s Third Energy Package regulations, increase of use of renewable energy sources, better energy efficiency and others,” he said.
