Defence Policy Director of the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania Vaidotas Urbelis underlined that the agreement would help to enhance coordination of assistance the signing countries were rendering for defence reforms and modernization of armed forces to Ukraine and Georgia.
According to the statement, the Nordic and Baltic countries have already jointly contributed personnel to the NATO Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC) with one delegate from Lithuania.
The Nordic and Baltic countries also plan to step up support to Ukraine by sending experts and instructors, providing consultations regarding modernization of defence sectors, and legal advice, the ministry said.
