Lithuania’s Radio and Television Commission (LRTK) has already started an investigation of a possible infringement of the Public Information Act on February 14, 2016.

It is alleged that participants on the show made statements that could promote violence and ethnic hatred and threaten the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of the Baltic States.

The Swedish-registered RTR Planeta which broadcasts in Russian has already been sanctioned by Lithuania’s broadcasting regulator more than once. The broadcaster’s last offence also occurred made on the program Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov broadcasted on November 29 last year.

The Commission obliges Lithuanian re-broadcasters to move the program to television packages distributed only for an additional fee.
