Ukraine supporters meet with US senator

Ukrainian representative Michael Sawkiw asked the senator to sign the Ukraine Freedom Support Act S.2828. The meeting addressed the need for arms support for Ukraine which is fighting not just for its own freedom, but for whole Europe, the US-Lithuanian Community said in a press release.

Representatives of the US-Lithuanian Community explained that their country had also experienced Russia’s aggression and that the Baltic states were a likely target again. Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė has called Russia a state that supports terrorism.

On 11 December, Senator Brown and 15 other US senators (eight Republicans and eight democrats) signed the Ukraine Freedom Support Act S.2828, which was later endorsed by the House of Representatives. President Barack Obama signed the Act on 18 December.
