11 foreign spies sent out of Lithuania over last decade

“In 2004-2014, 11 foreign intelligence officers were sent out of Lithuania following the disclosure of their spying. Investigations into spying not necessarily result in the detention of officers from foreign intelligence services and their agents or sending of them out of the country but such activities are controlled and damage is neutralized,” reads the publication titled “Who, How and Why Spies in Lithuania.”

It also states the Department has been observing an increase in intelligence activity lately, with Russia‘s intelligence and security services being the most aggressive ones, and such activity is taking place inside and outside Lithuania.
