Baltic and Nordic defence ministers discuss joint capacities

The initiative envisages joint establishment of groups of defence and military planing specialists that could participate in NATO, European Union (EU) and United Nations (UN) crisis management operations by training and advising military institutions of other countries on reforms and army management, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said.

The meetings of Nordic and Baltic defense ministers traditionally include defense ministers of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden, as well as the chief of the Defense Department of the Icelandic Foreign Ministry. Additionally, the meeting includes representatives of Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Poland.
