“The suit is based on my moral experiences over my father. I have not have a father since my birth, I had to live my life knowing that my father was pointlessly murdered,” Wieromiejus said in his suit.
The Canadian resident did not attend the Friday’s hearing of a case where Vaclovas Lučinskas, a resident of Ukmergė, is suspected of murdering Wieromiejus’ father.
Lučinskas, 85-year-old former militia officer with a university degree and no previous criminal records, is charged with murder and deportation of civilians.
Lučinskas pleaded not guilty in court.
According to the Lithuanian Criminal Code, deportation or resettlement of civilians is punishable by 5-15 years in prison, while murder of persons protected by the international humanitarian law may lead to a jail term of 10-20 years or a life term in jail.
