Starting Jan. 1, the standard electricity tariff was lowered by 0.1 euro cents, or 1 percent, to 11.3 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh).
Households charged on a time-of-day basis will now pay 12.2 cents for daytime electricity, down by 0.2 cents, or 1.6 percent, and 9.1 cents for night-time electricity, unchanged from last year.
Electricity prices for household consumers went down by 5 percent on average in January 2017.
