“One needs cards, an electronic signature and has to carry too many documents with them to prove that they are actually investors,” she said after meeting with a group of foreigners living in Lithuania.

According to Grybauskaitė, the overall picture for foreigners investing in Lithuania is “positive and good and no major changes are needed, but there are still bureaucratic constraints”.

“But these are just details – the overall picture is positive,” she said.

The meeting took place in Slidinėjimo Akademija (Ski Academy), a ski and snowboard training deck opened in Vilnius by Richard Schrijer, a Dutch man who permanently lives in Lithuania.
