The highest salaries are in international IT, pharmaceuticals, finance and other areas.
Experts say that high taxes often make the richest Lithuanians to look for ways to pay less tax. A €1,500 monthly salary is the threshold beyond which people pay more taxes, but cannot expect to get better personal benefits from paying the higher rates.
The money paid over this level does not result in higher benefits through health services or a higher pension.
