According to Mindaugas Linge, communication between the president’s office and the government was closer at the start of the term of the current Cabinet of Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis. Recently, however, presidential advisers often learn about new initiatives from the media or see legal acts after they have been already registered in the parliament.

“Initially, there was a willingness from the government to discuss reforms, but there is a considerable number of initiatives that we learn about after we read about them on news websites or see registered draft legislation,” the adviser told the Žinių Radijas radio station.

“We’ll like to see more cooperation, more discussions taking place,” he added.
