According to CEO of LRT, Audrius Siaurusevičius, the Russian-language news prepared by Ukrainian Channel 5 will be aired on LRT Culture channel. The journalists’ reports from the front line have already gained international recognition.

As Ukrainian military is winning battles against pro-Russian separatists, Kiev has another difficult task on its hands – to fight the Kremlin’s propaganda war.

“We remember clearly what objective information about Lithuania’s fight for freedom meant to us. Moscow also called us fascist. Now similar words are used against Ukrainians simply because they wish to govern the country based on the standards of Western democracies. I am deeply convinced that Lithuanian national broadcaster’s duty is to help Ukrainians withstand the Kremlin disinformation attack. And the best way to do this is to provide objective information in cooperation with Ukrainian Channel 5,” said Siaurusevičius.
