Lithuania’s intelligence agencies to be granted access to past financial operations

DELFI / Šarūnas Mažeika

Previously the Law on Intelligence allowed intelligence institutions to monitor and record financial flows and financial operations with the authorisation of the court. However it was impossible to receive information about financial operations completed in the past.

It is hoped that the amendments come into force on 1 June will enable intelligence institutions to carry out their functions more effectively.
