In a wide ranging end of summit press conference he weighed in on the impact of sanctions on Russia.

“The economy has ground to a halt, somewhere between $100 and $200 billion of capital flight has taken place.”

Amid reports of Russian troops along Ukraine’s border Obama was asked whether he was considering sending lethal aid to Ukraine.

“If you start seeing an invasion by Russia, that’s obviously a different set of questions. We’re not there yet,” said Obama.

The U.S. Africa Leaders Summit was the first of its kind in the United States – but its a program Obama says he hopes will continue after his presidency ends.
