
The main factors that contributed to the growth were lower taxes and the raise of the minimum wage, according to Latvia’s national statistics bureau.
In January 2015, Latvia cut income tax from 24% to 23%. The minimum wage grew from €320 to €360.
On average, Latvians now make more than Lithuanians. In 2015, the average salary in Lithuania, after tax, stood at €585, growing 5.6% year-on-year. The minimum wage in Lithuania grew from €289 to €325.
Estonia is releasing official data on work pay in early March.
