Six members of the committee voted in support of approving the assisted insemination bill with all of the president-proposed amendments, while three were against and one abstained. The law should go to plenary on Wednesday afternoon.

By vetoing the law adopted by the parliament this past summer, the president suggested dropping some of the strict restrictions – discard the highest number of embryos, allow donation of sex cells and embryo diagnostics before moving them to a mother’s uterus.
