Ship traffic at Klaipėda port remains restricted

“No incidents occurred last night. The wind speed was around 25 meters per second with gusts up to 28 m/s. The height of waves was five to six meters,” Dovilė Ringis, the port’s spokeswoman, told BNS.

“Traffic remains restricted at the moment. Thirteen ships are waiting to enter the port,” she said.

Winds are forecast to ease to 15-19 m/s by noon before strengthening again to 16-21 m/s in the evening, according to the spokeswoman.

Some 3,800 customers of Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (Energy Distribution Operator, or ESO) were still without electricity on Thursday morning after the storm that started on Wednesday and continued into the night.
