If the elections were held next Sunday, the Social Democratic Party headed by Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius could expect votes of 17.2 percent of supporters.

According to the latest poll of Spinter Tyrimai (Spinter Surveys), the second party in multi-mandate voting would be the Peasant and Green Union with 12.4 percent and the conservative Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats with 10.5 percent.

In fact, delfi.lt noted that the poll was conducted on August 23-30, i.e., before the scandal over overpriced kitchen utensils for the army erupted and before the Liberal Movement‘s former leader Eligijus Masiulis made public explanations about the origin of about 250,000 euros in cash in his home.

The Labour Party would get 6.6 percent of the vote, while the Liberal Movement headed by Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Šimašius would be supported by 6.3 percent of the voters, shows the survey.

Another party crossing the 5-percent threshold and winning MP mandates in multi-mandate voting would include the Order and Justice party, with support from 5.1 percent of the electorate.

Other parties would not place candidates in the parliament.

Delfi.lt said party ratings remained virtually unchanged since the earlier month, with the changes of all parties under the margin error of 3 percent.
