Lithuanian athletes are ready to go to the Paralympic Games to compete in goalball, judo, rowing, swimming and athletics competitions. To draw the public’s attention to the Paralympics, Vilnius authorities have organized a Paralympics square, located near the Cathedral, where people are welcome to try out a number of Paralympic sports.

Day four at Rio Olympics was a good one for team Lithuania. In basketball, Lithuania secured its second victory in a row, Lithuanian rowers advanced to the finals while the sailors are fighting for the tickets to the medal race.
Rūta Meilutytė finished seventh in the Olympic 100m breaststroke swimming finals, disappointing her own and her fans’ hopes for a second Olympic gold. Doctors who worked with the Lithuania swimmer say that the season has been very difficult for Meilutytė who suffered an injury last year.
