Pralalympic square in Vilnius to celebrate Lithuanian team

“Your Paralympics team sends a very strong message to everyone – that anything can be achieved in life under any circumstances. I wish the athletes good luck, positivity and sports achievements,” said the mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius.

Seven athletes with visual impairment from Vilnius are going to the Rio Paralympics, they will be joined by six Lithuanians from other parts of the country.

Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games will be held on September 7-18. It is planned that it will involve more than 4,000 athletes from 170 countries who will meet in 22 types of sports. Lithuanian athletes will leave for Rio Paralympics on 1 September.
