Take off: Lithuanian police use drones to bust illegal pot stills

DELFI / Šarūnas Mažeika

Vilnius police officers performed a test drone flight over Rūdninkai Forest and came across a makeshift alcohol distillery with 1,200 litres of ferment.

The operators of the illegal pot still were not on site, but the police collected evidence and opened an investigation.

The new initiative is aimed at employing technology developed by Lithuanian scientists and engineers to more efficiently fight illegal production and imports of alcohol and tobacco products.
