Energy accounted for 26.5 percent of Lithuania’s total industry in 2014

In 2014, the major part in the main commodity group was made up of intermediate goods – 32.1 percent of the total industry; compared to 2013, this figure grew by 4.1 percent. In the said group, a 3.2 percent decrease was observed for the sales of chemical products, of which those of fertilisers – by 0.4, plastics in primary forms – by 6.1 percent.

Meanwhile, an 8.4 percent increase was observed for the sales of plastic products, of which those of plastic bags – by 16.3, plastic boxes – by 17.3 percent. A 15.2 percent increase was recorded for sawmilling and planning of wood, 10 percent – manufacture of wooden building articles.

In 2014, energy goods accounted for 26.5 percent of the total industry. Compared to 2013, the sales of such goods in value terms decreased by 24.3 percent. In the said group, the sales of diesel fuel for cars decreased by 21.8, unleaded gasoline for cars – by 26.3, crude oil – by 12.4 percent.
