“The ship has arrived at the Klaipėda port. The unloading of the equipment will commence today and will be finished tomorrow,” Captain Andrius Dilda, public relations officer for Lithuania’s Land Forces, told BNS on Tuesday.
In his words, the bulk of the approximately 100 pieces of equipment include Belgian Piranha infantry fighting vehicles and Luxembourg’s Dingo II infantry mobility vehicles.
Fifty-two Belgian troops arrived in Lithuania on Monday, with another 270 soldiers from Belgium and Luxembourg expected to land at Palanga Airport on Thursday.
The Baltic Piranha exercise will train Belgium’s response forces to perform stabilization operations and other joint actions.
