“An investigation has been opened regarding illegal deletion of data and unauthorized access to the system,” Ramunas Matonis, spokesman for the Police Department, told BNS.
Under the Lithuanian Criminal Code, the offenses are punishable by community service, a fine, arrest or a custodial sentence for up to two years.
The minister’s account last Monday was hacked and deleted. It was restored shortly after he contacted Facebook’s administrators.
