Nerius Gasparavičius, CEO of Alfa Media that operates the portal, told BNS that the incident had occurred in early hours of Friday.
“At 00:25 a.m. this morning, she (the mayor of Visaginas) suddenly received more than 2,000 negative votes,” said the businessman. “I see this as a cyber attack.”
In his words, specialists are currently working to track down the method of hacking of the portal’s systems.
