Belarus does not always support Russia’s actions in Donbass, Lithuanian foreign minister says

Linas Linkevičius
DELFI / Tomas Vinickas

Linkevičius with Ukraine‘s Pavlo Klimkin and Belarus‘ Vladimir Makei discussed not only the security situation in the region but also common economic and infrastructure projects.

In Odessa, the Lithuanian foreign minister also met with representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and businesses. They presented their projects that aim at reconstructing the devastated regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. According to the minister, NGOs are not happy with the speed of Kiev’s reforms, while ties between the central government and NGOs remain very weak.

“However, they not only just show their disappointment but also take concrete steps and carry out very specific and very important work. We are talking not only about physical reconstruction but also about certain cultural projects,” Linkevičius said.
