Food trucks get green light in Vilnius

DELFI / Karolina Pansevič

Until now, food or snack trucks were only able to sell their products in a few places authorised by the municipality, like farmers’ markets located in shopping centre parking areas.

Now, these vehicles will be able to deliver their food and products throughout the city, though they will not be able to stay in any one place for more than an hour.

Now, food trucks will need to apply for a permit from the local councils where they will want to sell their products. They will be allowed to sell their products in places like side roads, public squares, parks, and near office buildings.

The permits will cost €21 a month and will require proof that the vehicle in question be fit to operate.
