“I can confirm that he has been released on bail by the court,” acting Interior Minister Tomas Žilinskas told BNS.

Tomas Krušna, chief prosecutor of the Criminal Prosecution Department at the Lithuanian Prosecutor General’s Office, said that the Georgian national had been questioned by the prosecutors.

“Within a short period of time, various information was received and it allowed (the prosecutors) to assess the situation. The prosecutor (in charge of the case) took the decision to replace the arrest with other coercive measures,” he said at a news conference.

As a condition of his release on bail, the Georgian had to surrender his passport and must report to police at certain intervals.
