Lithuanian Foreign Ministry earmarks EUR 30,000 for OSCE mission in Ukraine

In June, Lithuania already contributed 172,260 litas to the operations of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission. In addition to the financial input, Lithuania delegated five experts to the mission. Currently, two Lithuanian experts work there.

The Foreign Ministry also allocated 69,056 litas in voluntary contribution to the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. Deployed in Ukraine in March, the mission sends detailed and independent reports on the human rights situation in Ukraine (including Crimea) on a regular basis and provides consultations to the Ukrainian government.

According to UN data, more than 4,700 people were killed in Ukraine since Russia-supported separatists seized control of the country’s Eastern regions at the border with Russia in April.
