On Sunday, Motuzas along with ambassadors of other countries and diplomats attended a campaign Return of Names organized by a local non-governmental organization Memorial, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.

The participants of the campaign stood in a minute of silence before laying wreaths at the Solovetsky Stone memorial.

At an annual 12-hour ceremony at the Solovetsky Stone memorial on Moscow’s Lubyanka Square, the participants read aloud the names of the victims of Soviet terror. After 11 times of reading, only half of the names have been read yet.

Russia has been paying tribute to the memory of victims of Soviet repressions since 1991.
