‘We will agree on battalions for Baltic states’ – NATO chief

“We will agree to deploy by rotation four robust multinational battalions in the Baltic states and Poland,” Stoltenberg told journalists in Brussels ahead of the meeting of NATO defence ministers.

A battalion usually consists of 500-1,000 soldiers.

NATO says that additional capacities would be sent to Eastern Europe in response to Russia‘s aggressive actions in Ukraine and the Baltic Sea region.
